Mary Slaton graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Montevallo and earned her Master of Music from Memphis State University. Ms. Slaton has 35 years of experience teaching piano to all skill levels. Her professional memberships include MTNA, AMTA, and AOMTA organizations. In recent years, she has been a church musician and taught music appreciation at Southern Union Community College. As a professional musician, she has played for weddings and parties for many years in Opelika and the Atlanta area. Many of Mary’s students excel in local and state competitions.
The mission of The Arts Association of East Alabama is to provide rewarding and exciting experiences for the citizens of this area by developing innovative programming that will stimulate interest in the arts, eagerness to learn through the arts, and broader participation in and support of the arts.
